2.how ego is quantified or measured and by what scale ?
3.what part ego plays in human civilization of well being ?
4. what is nexus of ego with the development of concepts of religion and spirituality?
5.what is relationship of ego with " dharma or ethical valuesor moral values"?
6.how ego and "karmic theory "is connected?

Appearance of truth is opposed to the true nature or essence of reality .It is a Maya.
The nature of the seemingly perplexing quality of the dual dilemma is universal throughout existence .
Duality lies within the nature of permanent transcendence and universal consciousness.

We see or perceive or view things or matter different than their real entity because of our ego.
External knowledge can be a major egoistical obstacle to perceive reality. We need to get rid of ego and develop absolute non attachment .
We experience nature’s primordial energies ,elements and living things as one, totally beyond the orientation of subject and object in ego less state..

Ego projects an individual reality as two fold quality .
Ego shows dual orientation to life.
Ego blocks or prevents us from experiencing our union with the divinity .

Quark and Gluon phenomena is the transcendent quality of unity . It is the essence of dual consciousness. It represents the primordial transcendence of all.
Love is central motive power , non dual and division less and pervades all things and Universal . Love is Divine. Love awakens the sleeping hearts of beings .
Love is the unity with the divinity in Self realization.

Nothing happens by chance .
Now my query is 1. what is attributes of ego ?
2.how ego is quantified or measured and by what scale ?

There is need for desire and ego to be successful in society. But we must strive for liberation.
Results of good work never dies. Liberated consciousness works with aspirants.

Namaste Rathindraji and Pranams,

Thank you for the kind words and your response. I understand your interests, experience and your queries.

As I have mentioned, we must look into the nature of this dual dilemma which is universal throughout existence, and realize the truth that pervades it's very nature or essence as opposed to the concept of the appearance of truth. Reality is a great place to begin this inquiry. And as we have discussed, divinity is a question that you are investigating and I will put forth that the nature of this seemingly perplexing quality lies within the nature of duality it's self, and the discovery of it's permanent transcendence or universal consciousness.

We must inquire what is the difference...the difference between all things or our view of things, our perception as it were. Here, this mysterious quality called ego emerges, and becomes the stumbling block that separates the notion of not only all matter, but thought and consciousness as well. I would like to draw your attention to the conditioning of a divisive existence and our separation in the sense that we have the ability to observe things that we are not...the individual reality or individual self.

External knowledge can be a major egoistical obstacle, and our external knowledge as you know becomes our present conditioning which is the very thing we need to rid of or develop absolute non attachment to.
From time to time as you have described we slip into a state of unity that goes beyond this two fold duality of being, and when the division of ego is dissolved we can experience natures primordial energies ,elements and living things as one, totally beyond the orientation of subject and object. So what's the block that prevents us as humans from experiencing and remaining in this state of divine unity all the time...? This is our continual dual orientation to life, and it's binding two fold quality that exists only as long as the ego continues to project an individual reality.

A metaphor that comes to mind is the Quark and Gluon phenomena. So consider that this singular no dual reality is akin to the transcendent quality of unity that is the essence of dual consciousness, and represents the primordial transcendence of all. At the center of all this, is that that moves it all, and that is Love...! Here, we find a Love that pervades all things and is Universal in the sense that it is non dual and without divisions, which links your inquiry back to Divinity. It lays sleeping in the hearts of beings waiting to be awakened and sustained by the unity of Self realization.

God does not play dice, and nothing is by chance as you know. So the work falls once again to the ethereal as opposed to the material. Austerity is a path, but not the only way to liberation, it allows the aspirant to experience self inquiry with out the obstacle of materialism which ultimately leads one to non attachment. Being a westerner I know what you mean about the need for desire and ego to be successful within the confines of society, however, we must put our designs not in the models of failure, but in the light of transcendence and strive towards liberation. I assure you that nothing ever dies, and that liberated consciousness is present in this realm waiting for opportunities to work with aspirants.

As you are interested in human cognition and brain functions, I feel that you will find this video very interesting as it describes an extremely odd experience.

I am extremely greateful to your for your accepting me as your disciple,however unworthy I may be.
I had an opportunity to hear from Swami Mumukshananda Maharaj about the concept and understanding when our family visited Mayawati Ashram as Ashram's guest. This gave me a clarity with my peviously acquired knowledge.
As your not a knowledgeable disciple I am trying to you what I am seeking .
I am now doing my PhD on the Topic " Role of Ethics in Construction Management. " My research is on Applied Philosophy in Practical situations, , Practical Psychology , cognitive aspects of brain and behaviour of human mind , Application of Legal Jurisprudence, Practical Application of Science in Technology and Practical Application on Construction Projects , ruled by mostly unethical entities across the world .

I have a BTECH (Civil Engineering) from IIT, Kharagpur, A MBA in Financial Management , a Law Graduate , and Qualified Lead Assessor in ISO : 9001: 2000
I am in Consultancy , Advising and Training profession world wide.

My query shall be the on the practical side of Indian Philosophies. In Paricular , in contrast with the world Philosophies in General starting with Aristotle , Plato and down.
I am fascinated about human civilization. I ponder and reflect to understand what is the true meaning of " Divinity". I reflect the practical understanding of " Divinity ".
I understand any concept of truth is universal , unchanging and very simple to understand.
Regarding " Adwaita Philosophy" my mind is now set in in " quarks" and " gluon" and I am seeing the " dance of Shiva" ever changing from " matter to energy and energy to matter" and i am also seeing the " consciousness" in this transformation.

I talk to flowers , trees , plants , sky , earth , water and primordial energy out of which the universes have been created. We exchange
sweetness and pleasantries .These experiences are so reflecting and mind boggling . . I listen them singing , dancing in merriment.
As the " Dance of Shiva", sometimes extremely violent , sometimes in deep maditations , Parvati / Uma/ Durga/ Kali is not able to break Shiva's meditation.

The last word of Professor Einstein " God does not play dice" constantly amuses me. I ponder " Does He/ She , does He/ Sh not ?"resulting out of Professor Einstein's confusion about his own finding of " Quantum Physics / Mechanics"

Now coming to " Desire" , " Ego" . What is the practical truth?
The today's "Swamis" are in the need of " material satisfaction" more than the sense of gifting everything .Where is " Viswamitra" Rishi ? . Today Austerity is not a practical proposal .
Present day Western Philosophy believes that one must have extreme passion of "desires"
and he also should have highest opinion in himself and also to show his "ego" to attain success/ achievement.Then what is the truth?
I believe it truth is required to be openly debated and reflected. It should not an instrument to subjugate the believers as many religions were established and still doing it to keep their hold on believers, . and are exploiting them by instilling the sense of " fear" and " pleasures of angel and happiness of the heaven"
I am seeing huge questioning across the whole world , specially among the youths and who are acquiring open knowledge and wisdom.
I believe that is truth which adds value to the creation by the Creator , whatever concept we believe about the Creator. Right from the inception of creation and the birth of human in the lakes of Africa this simple truth has been the overall encompassing truth.

I've taken the liberty of visiting your page and noticed that you've already answered question #1.

Meaning of spirituality:
Spirituality is the knowledge of Divinity, which is man's true nature.

This is really the essence of the question, what is our true nature or the Universal Self...? I would add that it's not just the knowledge of the divine but the realization of that knowledge. The journey, in my opinion, is non-dual and transcendent in it's nature, and is attainable by anyone who is committed to observing what they are not.

Which brings me to question #2. What we desire is usually not that good for us, in fact, desire as a concept is somewhat flawed in the sense that it feeds the ego and creates the feeling of unsubstantiated need. I feel that this ego-desire is what needs to be looked at here, a great working definition is, All that is thought is ego, and so we see that our desire is a manifestation of what the ego is projecting as thought, and that's why your never feel satisfied with the outcome even if you get what you think you wanted.

Not knowing what you want from life is this individual self or ego identification playing out every desire possible and sending you on a wild case to fulfill what you already have... Divinity. The question becomes how to sustain the meditation of you being the divine, and that is where the non dual or Advaita Vedanta comes in.
Consider that all your thoughts are being divided into two as the ego projects your desires within your mind. This is known as subject object orientation or duality consciousness, and it only leads to what your poem is alluding to. There is something other than this individual self and duality, it's the unity of the Universal Self which is in essence the same thing, only the individual self is being disguised by the ego to make you think that it's the ultimate truth, but it's not. So with this way of thinking you become separate from all things and constantly feel the need to be fulfilling your desires, usually in vain action.

My question is :1. How to find our true nature ?

2. How to ascertain what we desired shall be ultimately good for us ?
I have said already " We do not know what we want from life. When we actually get what we desired to get we realized we never wanted to get that." - the famous spiritual poem of Noble Laurette Rabindra Nath Tagore"

In short, We Don't...!
We don't have to do any of the things that you've mentioned. It's only the pressure of society telling you what to do, ultimately all you have to do is realize your true nature in life, and not conform to anything.
To find your true nature, try to observe all the things that are troubling you and realize that this is what your not. Don't let anyone tell you what's right for you, just observe what's been wrong for you, keep the process going and what's left over is what's right. When you find your bliss zone your probably close to your true nature. Just keep going!

The reply is simply: because we have to fight, to pray, to put much effort for getting something we desire and finally if it is good for our souls, if we have Faith, our desires will be fulfilled, if things we desire are not good for our souls it is not sure it will be fulfilled ever.
So be careful what you desire and what are you praying for.
